“Success in business depends more on relationships than spreadsheets.”

- Alan Cohen

If you see or hear about a successful company, you will normally hear about a leader at the top who truly cares about her employees. The employees, in turn, treat customers and vendors with dignity and respect.

What relationship in your business can you work on this week?

“What an interesting life I had. And how I wish I had realized it sooner.”

- Colette, French Writer

Seconds turn into minutes, minutes turn into hours, hours turn into days, days turn into weeks and weeks turn into years. Often we say, I cannot believe how time is flying.

What if this week we wrote down ten things each day that we are grateful to have in our lives?

“The second-sweetest set of three words in English is 'I don't know'.”

- Carol Tavris

We fear admitting we do not know the answer will make us less credible to our colleagues or audience. Time has proven that in reality the exact opposite happens. We admit we don't know,
and people learn to trust and respect us even more for they understand that we are being authentic.

What would happen if this week you admit that you do not have the answer?

“My father taught me that you have to deal with people above you and below in the same manner.”

- Terrie Williams

When I walk the grounds of my condo complex I realize that there are many people that help this place to be welcoming. Yesterday, Mary, our cleaning lady was washing the front sidewalk. I said "Mary, thanks for helping make this a great place to live." Her smile said it all!

Are you paying attention to people around you who help make your life easier?
